LIBYA-UNREST-POLITICS

A resident of the north-central Libyan city of Benghazi shows a caricature of Libyan ruler Moamer Kadhafi as others burn copies of a book which Kadhafi wrote and which is known as the "green book" at a local park IN the city on March 02, 2011. Kadhafi warned the West against intervening to support the rebellion against him, saying that would unleash a "very bloody war" in which "thousands of Libyans would die." Speaking live on state television, Kadhafi again blamed Al-Qaeda for the challenge to his 41-year iron-fisted rule, saying the objective was to control Libya's land and oil and promising to fight to the last man and woman.
